Personality:
Lucas is incredibly smart. He has a bit of a morbid fascination with death, and actually enjoys being a pathologist. He can be quite funny, and is quite sweet. He loves winding people up, and loves music. He also loves baseball, and Grey's Anatomy, though he'd never, ever admit it. He doesn't let anyone intimidate him, and he hates people with God complexes. He always stands up for people if they need it, and always sticks to his beliefs. He also loves to debate.
Past:
He grew up in St. Meredith's, to parents John and Fiona Dorrian. He has an older sister, Chandra Chlöe, and a younger brother, Douglas Benjamin - Lucas means 'light', Douglas means 'dark' and Chandra means 'moon'. Their parents gave them these names because they thought it was poetic.
He had pretty much a charmed childhood, growing up in a nice house, but he and his brother used to fight and fight. Rather ironic, their names were opposites, and so were their personalities. Also ironically, Chandra was always the peaceful one.
As a teenager, Lucas got involved in the "wrong" culture. Drinking, and some 'minor' drugs - blow, dope, etc. Luckily, he didn't get any health problems. What made him actually stop was that his parents found out, They sent him for counselling. In Lucas's private opinion, his counsellor was a complete ass. All this stuff about depression and needing to be noticed... Lucas was really clever, he knew that he was not depressed - he loved life. Life was great. He loved his music, and he had a lot of dreams, and he was going to fulfil them.
The attention thing may have been right, even if Lucas didn't realise it. His sister, Chandra, was always the apple of his parents eye. She was stunning, with a beautiful figure and a fantastic smile. She was as brilliant as the moon she was named after, and it was sometimes like she was all that their parents could see, and at times Lucas and Douglas were a little resentful of that. But not of Chandra, she was too nice.
When Lucas went to med school, he had no idea what he wanted to specialise in. He met his best friend, Maia Sharp there. When they were doing their pathology rotation, he decided that that was what he wanted to do.
When he started dating Amélie Grey, they both got a lot of stick. There aren't any rules that say residents can't date interns, but it is frowned upon. Amélie just shrugged it off, saying she'd been through worse than a couple of doctors looking down at her, so Lucas followed her example of just being dignified about it.
That's really Lucas's life up until now.
Other:
He is fluent in English, French and Swahili, and can also sign. This came in useful as an intern, but as, a pathologist, it really is quite useless.
